Free camping options

If you prefer to camp amount the trees and along the Murrumbidgee River, there are many different camping spots:

Willbriggie Regional Park
1. North-west: Access via Forest Drive (opposite Darlington Point Riverside Caravan park) or on the South-west via King Street. Pet friendly, toilet (Whittaker's Bend), camping. Suitable for caravans in dry weather (dirt road access).
2. North-east: Access via Beach Road, off Narand Street (opposite Darlington Point Accommodation Village). Not suitable for caravans, but 4WD and camping permitted. Pet friendly.

Birdcage Rest Area
Sturt Highway, 33km west of Darlington Point
At the west of the rest shelter, there’s a dirt track leading to a camping area on the bank of the Murrumbidgee River. The track continues upstream to a bend in the river. A drop toilet is located at the rest area.
