Anzac Day road closures

• Bridge Street and Carrington Street (Kidman Way), Darlington Point will be closed to traffic from 10:45 am to approximately 11:00 am. A detour will be in place.
• Jerilderie Street will be closed to traffic from 9.45 to 10:00 am between Bolton and Southey Streets. A detour will be in place.

Transport for NSW has asked us to share that they will be carrying out essential maintenance work on the Newell Highway. The work started on Monday 8 April 2024 and will continue until late June, weather permitting.

The work involves rebuilding the road surface on an 800-metre section of the Newell Highway north of Jerilderie.

Work includes:
• establishing a temporary work site
• drainage improvements
• using heavy machinery to lay a new road surface
• installing safety barriers and line marking

There will be a reduced speed limit of 40 km/hour, single lane closures and traffic controllers and signage.

While work is underway, there will be no access in and out of Showground Road from the Newell Highway. Road users will be detoured via Bolton Street in
Jerilderie.
