Roadworks & Closures
Changed traffic conditions - Sturt Highway - between Forest Hill and Gol Gol
Motorists will find changed traffic conditions on the Sturt Highway as safety improvement work is carried out.
Work will be carried out between 9.30 am and 3.30 am from Monday 12 February 2024 and will take about six weeks to complete, weather permitting.
Gateway treatments will be installed at 17 locations on the Sturt Highway between Forest Hill and Gol Gol to improve safety for road users. This work involves upgrading speed zone signage, applying a coloured road surface and narrowing the travel lanes to the entry and exit of each town to encourage road users to slow down.
Locations include Forest Hill, Wagga Wagga, Collingullie, Narrandera, Darlington Point, Hay, Balranald, Euston and Gol Gol.
Traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, allow an extra five minutes of travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
Thank you for being patient during this time.
Reconstruction of the Newell Highway from BP Station to Leahys Lane in Jerilderie. Stage 1 is scheduled to progress from 13 February to 16 March 2024
