Leadership & Structure

General Manager - John Scarce

As Council's General Manager, Mr Scarce oversees Murrumbidgee Council's day-to-day operations. He is also responsible for implementing council's strategic plans and objectives, delivering services and infrastructure to the community, managing staff and the organisation's financial management.

As the most senior person in the organisation, he provides a critical interface between the councillors and the organisation's operational arms which implement decisions made at council meetings. He has high levels of accountability to the governing body (ie the councillors), who are in turn accountable to the community for the organisation's performance during each council term.
