Australia Day Awards
Murrumbidgee Council joins with the community and proudly celebrates Australia Day in Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie.
The awards promote and recognise outstanding examples of citizenship and achievement during the current year.
Awards are given in each of our towns: Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie.
COLEAMBALLY
The categories are:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year (21 years and under as at 31 December 2023)
- Senior Sportsperson of the Year (17 years and over on 31 December 2023)
- Junior Sportsperson of the Year (13-16 years on 31 December 2023)
- Sub-junior Sportsperson of the Year (12 years and under on 31 Dec 2023)
- Sporting Team of the Year
- Event of the Year
- Cultural Award of the Year
DARLINGTON POINT
The categories are:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year (under 21)
- Event/Group Achievement of the Year
- Senior Sportsperson
- Young Sportsperson (under 21)
- Sporting team of the Year
JERILDERIE
The categories are:
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year
