Nominate a local hero for an Australia Day award

Murrumbidgee Council is calling on the community to nominate an outstanding person for a local Australia Day award.

Murrumbidgee Council Mayor Ruth McRae said we have many wonderful people in our Murrumbidgee Council area and this is a fantastic opportunity to recognise their service, dedication and achievements.

Cr McRae said our community heroes contribute so much to our community. It’s a great honour for them to be nominated, and an even greater honour to receive an award.

The winners will be announced at the Australia Day awards ceremonies, which are held in Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie.

If you know of someone deserving of recognition, visit Council’s website at www.murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au, or contact 1300 676 243 for more information. Nomination forms are also available at each of Council’s offices.

Nominations close 4 December 2019 for Jerilderie, 6 January 2020 for Coleambally and 10 January for Darlington point.

Each town has various award categories. These include Citizen of the year, Young citizen of the year, Sportsperson of the year and Sporting team of the year.
