MATERNITY LEAVE REPLACEMENT CLEANER JERILDERIE - COMMENCING 5 AUGUST 2019 FOR 7 MONTHS

Murrumbidgee Council has a vacancy for a maternity leave replacement cleaner to clean Council facilities and setup for functions at various Council facilities in Jerilderie (maternity leave provisions apply).

Council is looking for a motivated team player who is committed to providing quality cleaning services.

Experience in domestic or commercial cleaning, plus the flexibility to work at various times are all requirements of the role.

Ideally you will have:

Qualifications and experience:

  • Cert II in cleaning operations or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in commercial cleaning
  • Class C drivers licence

Desirable Experience/Qualifications 

  • White card (or general construction induction card)
  • Previous recent experience in local government or other government entities
  • Manual Handling Training

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (STATE) AWARD 2017

Salary: Band 1 Level 2 Grade 2       $22 per hour or $836 per week.

Hours: 38 hours per week

Applications are invited for the position of Mechanic based in the plant workshop at the Council Depot in Darlington Point.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working a 38 hour week and involves working on a wide range of plant and equipment.

Salary: Grades 5-6, $25.68 - $29.77 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications

Murrumbidgee Council has a vacancy for a plant operator 7 Grader Maintenance.

Location: Jerilderie Depot

Conditions of employment: Local Government (State) Award 2017

Plant Operator Grade 7 salary from $1,045 - $1,187 per week based on experience and qualifications.

Hours: 38 Hours per week and a 9 day fortnight.

Workplace Health & Safety Risk Advisor - Readvertised

This is a great opportunity to guide and influence Council and assist in leading cultural and corporate change through the implementation of WH&S strategies and systems.

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS)/ Risk Advisor is responsible for providing high level quality assurance management and workplace health and safety guidance to Council.

This position assists with the implementation of operational policies, plans and procedures.

To be successful in this rewarding role you must meet the following selection criteria by providing a cover letter addressing the requirements of the position and a resume with two recent work referees:

Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV level qualifications in risk management, work health and safety, quality assurance or related field with a minimum five years’ experience in WHS/Risk
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of WHS legislation, procedures and processes and implementation of employee wellbeing programs
  • White card (or general construction induction card)
  • Current C class Driver Licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications 

  • Previous recent experience in local government or other government entities
  • Previous experience as a return to work coordinator
  • Diploma level qualifications risk management, work health and safety, quality assurance
  • Manual Handling Training
  • Traffic Controller Certificates (RMS Blue & Yellow card) or ability to obtain after commencement

An excellent salary up to $83K will be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Council seeks expressions of interest from enthusiastic and skilled persons to fill various short term and casual vacancies within Murrumbidgee Council’s operational workforce. These positions may be based at Council’s Depots in Darlington Point, Coleambally and Jerilderie.

Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2017. Council’s indoor full time staff work 35 hours per week and full time outdoor staff work a 38 hours per week. Casuals are employed on a daily basis as required.
