The scope of this policy is to establish clear and consistent approaches for addressing risks to health and safety in the workplace associated with the inappropriate use of alcohol and/or other drugs.

The primary objectives of this policy are to promote the positive use of public open spaces and to outline the process for establishing alcohol-free zones (AFZ) within the Murrumbidgee Council Local Government Area. This policy will allow Council to limit the locations where the consumption of alcohol is permitted. These zones are enforced by the NSW Police Force. The application of this policy applies to Council owned and managed reserves, including parks and footpath areas across the Murrumbidgee Council area.

The policy provides information for Council workers, the local community and wider public.

This Policy is to provide clear guiding principles for the disposal of Council owned assets including, but not limited to: plant, equipment, materials and stock items; office equipment and furniture; information technology, software and hardware; real estate (land and buildings).

Council is responsible for the management of an array of infrastructure assets that have been developed for and on behalf of the community.

The objectives of this policy are: 

• To minimise public health risk. 
• To separate and protect the quality of the potable water supply in Council’s water reticulation system from real or potential hazards. 
• To ensure cross-connection control is properly managed within properties. 
• To define responsibilities for plumbers and property owners.

This policy is to protect the Council's interest should problems arise following the construction or placement of a building or structure over or within the zone of influence of Council water, sewerage and stormwater infrastructure.

This policy applies to all areas of Council’s operations.

This policy outlines Council’s commitment to creating and maintaining a child safe organisation. Council supports children and young people having safe and happy experiences in our community, accessing our facilities and in the care of our services.

This code of conduct applies to Council committee members and delegates of Council who are not Councillors or staff of the Council.
