The Young Street Residential Subdivision project continues to advance with significant progress made behind the scenes.
Although visible changes on Young Street may seem limited, substantial work has been completed underground to lay the foundation for this exciting new development.
Murrumbidgee Council Mayor Ruth McRae said the new 55 lot subdivision will provide much-needed options for families and individuals and help to bridge the current gap in housing supply.
Key milestones are:
Additionally, the proposed street names are currently on public exhibition. The proposed names are Helena Parade, Edwards Street and Gugaa Street.
The subdivision will feature solar-powered street lights, with footings already in place. The lighting infrastructure will be installed closer to the project’s completion to ensure they are not damaged by heavy machinery working on the site.
The project remains on track for completion by Christmas. As part of the transition, the site shed and container will be relocated to the Ross Street site for the pumping station project.
