Four councils have joined forces to welcome visitors to the region with the release of a new visitor guide. The Murrumbidgee Trails destination brand was first launched as a collaboration between Leeton Shire Council, Lockhart Shire Council, Murrumbidgee Council, and Narrandera Shire Council four years ago.
Today, they celebrated their latest milestone with the release of a brand new 116-page visitor guide showcasing visitor attractions and events across the region. It also highlights more than 60 tourism businesses who have partnered with the councils to amplify marketing efforts and drive visitor engagement.
Tourism partners and council representatives from across the region gathered at the launch event. Held at Narrandera’s Destination and Discovery Hub, it celebrated the release and offered the chance to get a first look at the new guide which includes drawcards like the Lake Talbot Water Park, Whitton Malt House, The Rock Nature Reserve – Kengal Aboriginal Place and Altina Wildlife Park.
The tourism partnership harnesses the collective marketing power of the entire region, resulting in increased exposure and awareness. Over the past four years, significant progress has been made to establish the brand and grow awareness with 25,000 copies of the original printed visitor guide distributed and more than 4 million impressions on the destination’s growing social media accounts.
Murrumbidgee Council Mayor Ruth McRae described the Murrumbidgee Trails visitor guide as an excellent way to showcase the many experiences that await visitors.
“This collaboration among our four councils has proved extremely successful over the past few years and helps us to jointly showcase the unique experiences that we as locals enjoy every single day. We invite everyone to come and explore what our communities have to offer,” she said.
The new visitor guide will help disperse overnight visitors across different towns and villages to create a complete and enriching visitor experience. Hard copies are now available from visitor information centres across NSW, Victoria and the ACT, while a digital version will serve travellers searching online.
It’ll be supported by targeted digital and print marketing, as well as ongoing social media promotion.
