Murrumbidgee Mayor honoured for 20 years of dedicated service to local

At the August Murrumbidgee Council meeting, Cr Ruth McRae OAM was celebrated for her remarkable 20 years of dedicated service to local government, marking a significant milestone in her career in public office.
In a moving surprise, Cr McRae’s family visited to help commemorate this momentous occasion, adding a personal touch to the celebrations.
In recognising Cr McRae’s time in office, Deputy Mayor Cr Robert Black commended her unwavering commitment to the community. He highlighted Cr McRae’s impactful contributions across the wider region and throughout the Murrumbidgee Council area.
Cr McRae described it as a deep honour to receive this recognition. “I couldn’t have achieved this without the tremendous support from my family, fellow councillors, staff and the community. Thank you all for your encouragement throughout these years,” she said.
Looking ahead, Mayor McRae emphasised her dedication to continue working collaboratively for the betterment of the Murrumbidgee Council area and the wider region.
“I look forward to continuing to work with you and for you to enhance the well-being of our community,” she stated.
