Murrumbidgee Council is pleased to announce that nominations for Australia Day Awards are now open. This is an excellent opportunity to recognise the remarkable contributions and achievements of individuals and groups within the Murrumbidgee community.

Awards will be presented in each of the three towns: Coleambally, Darlington Point and Jerilderie. The awards celebrate outstanding achievements in areas such as community service, sports, arts and cultural contributions.

Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae encouraged community members to put forward their nominations.

“The Australia Day Awards are a fantastic way to acknowledge the incredible work being done in our towns. Every nomination is a chance to shine a light on those who make our community special,” Cr McRae said.

“I urge everyone to participate and celebrate the exceptional individuals and groups who make our community vibrant and inspiring. Don’t miss out—nominate today,” she said

Nominations can be submitted for the Jerilderie awards until 5 pm on Thursday 5 December 2024, and for Coleambally and Darlington Point until 5 pm on Thursday 7 January 2025.

Forms can be completed and lodged online at www.murrumbidgee.nsw.gov.au or paper forms can be collected from any of the council's offices.
