Scholarships & bursaries

We see education as a key process in the development and growth of our residents, particularly our youth.

We offer these scholarships throughout the year.

Murrumbidgee Council Education Scholarship - Closed

Total funding pool: $3,000

Value per scholarship: $1,000 

Eligibility: You must have a home address within the Murrumbidgee Local Government Area (ie, Council area) and be studying at a tertiary institution within the year you are applying. This includes university, TAFE and other recognised tertiary education providers.

Murrumbidgee Council Foundation Scholarship (Charles Sturt University) - Closed

We are proud to sponsor the annual Charles Sturt University Foundation Scholarship.

Total funding pool: $4,000

Amount per scholarship: Up to $4,000

Eligibility: the scholarship is only open to students who reside within the Murrumbidgee Council Local Government Area. It is open to commencing and continuing students who are studying full-time with Charles Sturt University, however, preference is given to commencing students.

This scholarship is open from approximately November to February.

Monash Bursary - Closed

We proudly offer the Sir John Monash Bursary in September/October each year in recognition of the incredible contribution Jerilderie's most famous son made on the national and world scale. 

Total funding pool: $2,000

Total bursary amount: $2,000

Eligibility: entry in this essay is open to residents of the Murrumbidgee Council area who are entering post-secondary education through university, college, TAFE, or an approved course of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation, ie apprentices, trainees and adult education.  

Can be used to:  assist with personal costs associated with course expenses.
