More about Mr Scarce

As Council's General Manager, Mr Scarce oversees the day-to-day operations of Murrumbidgee Council, implementing strategic plans, delivering essential services and infrastructure to the community, managing staff and overseeing financial matters.

Serving as the crucial link between councillors and operational teams, he ensures council decisions are effectively carried out. With a primary accountability to the councillors, Mr Scarce plays a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation meets community expectations throughout each council term.

Based in the Jerilderie office, he frequently travels across the council area to engage with stakeholders and oversee operations.

He is generally available for meetings in Darlington Point every Thursday and Coleambally every second Wednesday.

Biography

John joined Murrumbidgee Council in September 2018, bringing over 30 years of experience in Local Government in Australia and Canada, predominantly in roles as General Manager. He holds Masters degrees in Business Administration and Commercial Law and is a Fellow of Certified Practising Accountants Australia and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants in Canada.
