Mayor & councillors

The Council has nine members elected to do specific jobs as outlined in the Local Government Act and Rules. Their term is generally 4 years.

Every two years, the Council chooses a Mayor and Deputy Mayor from its members. The Mayor runs Council meetings and represents it when they are not meeting.

The Council members are supported by a team of council staff who make sure the plans and changes they decide on are put into action.
